The best training provider in Cebu so far when it comes to specialty dive courses. Shout out to Mr. Darwin Bawasanta, our head facilitator, for being so patient to all our demands and for being very understanding all throughout the process and who gave all his effort for the training to materialize. Mind you, it is not easy to find a facilitator who can give in to all demands and who will help you from the start (proposal) up to the very last day that the training has been successfully done. Definitely, we are Dive Funatics Fanatics!!! =)

I completed my Open Water course with Dive Funatics last week and all I can say is that it was all worth the penny. VERY ACCOMMODATING staff, from pre-booking period up until I finished the course. Basically the whole crew were awesome! My instructor, Sir Jojo, was also very chill and informative 👌🏻 can’t wait to do my Advanced OW with them! 😊

We got our open water cert through these guys and they were phenomenal! Everyone we talked to was very knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. Arthur our instructor inspired confidence, and made every lesson super fun, and was very thorough. Both of the instructors had wonderful senses of humor and had us laughing throughout each day.

I’m really happy to have chosen this Dive school to prepare my IE. Darwin is a very professional and experienced instructor that give you all the information needed both for the theory that for the skills. Key is an amazing and very dedicated staff instructor. Arthur and Gen very supportive and patients. they take time to explain you deeply all the topics you’re not familiar with. Is a really dream team!!! Dive Funatics is the best dive school and the best way to develop the instructor skills to became a very good diving instructor.

My boy took the Open Water lesson here just a few days ago. Instructor, Hans, was very patient. It is reassuring when Hans explained to the both of us what they will be doing, how many dives, how deep they would go on different lessons, took a lot of time to explain why it is important for each drill made me very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this dive center for anyone who is seeking to get their dive license.All the staffs there were very nice and I watched them talking to other students and customers. (Darwin/Rikka were very fast to respond on any questions over the e-mail). Instructions were all very simple to understand and were very willing to repeat if you didn’t understand them. All of them came out of the water with a big smile on their faces.Again, great place and keep up the good work!

Amazing experiences with this diving center… we have done the open water course with them… all the people are so competent and in just 2 days you can get your certification… the barrier reef is in the place, let’s say 5 minutes swim… I really raccomand this centre… Darwin, Jojo and rikka will make this course an amazing part of your trip… thanks guys, we will never forget you… hope to come back as a dive master hehehehe

There’s a good reason why they are rated a 5 Star Dive Resort by PADI. Our 2 day Open Water Diver Training was one of the best learning experience that I had in a skill training program.
How they encouraged learners to take different options to learn the theory is a big check (I learn better when reading so the e-learning was the best option).
Our instructors Kae and Arthur were totally in sync and have not wasted every opportunity for us to apply what we’ve learned in the books and put them into practice. I’m someone who have short attention span but they’ve kept me real busy that I totally enjoyed every moment of it.
They were able to quickly adjust all the basic skill demo and evaluation based on our needs, that’s how much attention they put into every learner.
Equalization was a bit of a challenge for me but they’ve been wonderful and patient that I was able to get the hang of it on Day 2.
With their help I am now more confident that I can explore and appreciate the beauty of what’s under the sea. Can’t wait to gain more experience in applying what I’ve learned and enroll in other learning courses in the future.
Thank you Dive Funatics for helping me tick off an item in my bucket list.

The whole journey of me taking the IDC in Divefunatics was remarkable and intensive at the same time. Intensive in a sense that they will really mold and encourage you to master every skill and the dive theories. The best teaching partner CD Darwin and Staff Instructor Kae, for being patient and very knowledgeable of the course. I truly recommend you take the course with them because you will definitely learn a lot and they made sure you’re the most prep candidate in the IE. ;¬)

I completed my Open Water Diver Training with Dive Funatics.When getting in touch with Dive Funatics by email, Darwin (the course director) responded quickly and professionally to all my inquiries.I also couldn’t have imagined a better dive instructor. He was very patient and effectively managed to open my eyes to the underwater world, to experience and enjoy its beauty.The whole team was super friendly and encouraging. On the days of my training, Dive Funatics was also training divers for the demanding test of PADI instructor. – Very thorough theory preparation.
– Underwater skill preparation that commits performing skills to muscle memory.
– Instructor training so extensive and realistic that you will not only be able to just detect, but also anticipate any student problems.
– Group learning with individual guidance.

I got my rescue diving license here. They sent me all the review and initial test material online so I could complete all the theory before starting. This made the process very smooth. On site they were very professional yet easy going. Also there were a lot of “victims” I could practice on which was very practical and helpful as I could try on different sizes of people. Rikka and Jojo were my instructors for rescue and efr, and Darwin was on hand to help and answer any questions I had.Highly recommend them.

It was an amazing experience and really fun to do the Open Water course withe Dive Funatics. Our dive instructor Jojo teaches us, with his 37 years experience, within 2 days all the safety procedures and skills to become a certified open water diver… The atmosphere is very relaxed and Darwin and Jojo are great guys. Me and my girlfriend, Ceci, did our Open Water certification with DiveFunatics and the choice couldn’t be better. The DM Jojo was very good, patient and always happy and smiling. This helped us to feel very comfortable. Thanks also to Kae that joined us for the last dive to shoot pictures and video, nice and fun. The organization was perfect and the management very helpful providing all the info we needed by mail before join the course. Moreover, they provide very good price rates for the content of the courses. I would surely recommend to whoever wants to approach scuba diving and enjoy the incredible experience of the big blue.

The IDC with Dive Funatics was pure awesomeness! They prepared us so thoroughly, from the Assistant Instructor Course up to the main IDC. I loved how the training was structured with the right mix of in-water workshops, mock exams, and classroom presentations that at the end of the 10th day of the IDC, our confidence and preparedness has been completely transformed. I also would like to note the delicious food that we had all through out the entire experience, they were very considerate in accommodating my vegetarian diet, we were never hungry 😉 and on top of that, our Course Director – Christophe Pace and all the staff instructors – Darwin, Kae and Phil were great mentors, always ready to answer questions, impart knowledge, wisdom and their experiences. The atmosphere was really amazing, more than being developed as an instructor, we also gained a family and a community with lots of laughter and fun. I highly recommend doing your IDC with Dive Funatics and see yourself transformed and your life changed for the better and forever!😉

I honestly can not recommend these guys enough. I did my dive master internship with them and had the best experience of my life. They make you feel part of the team and are friendliest group of people I’ve ever met. Finally deciding to go for a diving course, my best friend saw this company online and found great packages for the open water and advanced open water courses. Being skeptical people, we asked numerous questions before booking and Darwin was very accommodating and answered all questions. Also assured us of our safety and that we would enjoy the course. Location seems lacking above water but below there is flourishing marine life and good terrain for training. I enjoyed the course very much! and was able to gain ample amount of knowledge and skills from the team for my future dives! Perfect! I did my open water and advanced open water course with dive funatics. Since the theoretical part is online, I could finish it before I got there and it only took me 4 more days to get my licences (usually it would be 5-6). I have done some fin dives with different schools now which only strenghtens my opinion about Dive funatics. They let me dive with a computer without making a big thing about it whereas in other schools you have to rent it. Additionally you dont start in a boring pool. On my first ever dive we went in from the shore which offers a way more realistic view but still has a pool-like feel, so no current or anything.Last but not least I must say that I not only got my licence but felt like part of the team as well. Jojo is probably the funniest and most passionate dive instructor or master I had so far. Darwin also is very patient and makes sure you understand every part of diving.I will definitely come back and I have been recommending this dive shop to everyone I met.

A great bunch of instructors who tirelessly taught us the basics of rescue. When we had difficulties with our slightly unique BCD, everyone gave ideas enthusiastically and we had a fruitful session in the end. Now we are rescue and a bit more because we know how to deal with jacket BCDs (chicken feet) and the non-conventional type that has harness. Thank you Darwin, Rikka, Jojo, Christina!

Without knowing my friend, Rikka, is directly associated with this center, I went there with my best friend to join her for a fun dive. The location is easy to find, the person who welcomed us (Jojo) was very jolly and the DMs who dived with us (Kenneth & Jeremy) were very accommodating. My first dive was very pressuring (but still fun) but my 2 dives with these guys were just equally exhilarating and amazing! I did my PADI Open Water and then the Advanced Open Water combined and Dive Funatics were simply amazing! I did the theory part of the course online before I got there which in hindsight is a great idea as scuba diving really takes it out of you when you’re learning so not having to study after your lessons is great, you just get to relax. The dive area is right by when you set up (like 5 steps into to the water) so there’s no long walk with all your gear before you get into the water. I had Jo Jo as my instructor and he was great, extremely experienced (found out he’d be diving longer than I’ve been on this earth!) and has been all over the world. He made the classes fun with his humour and made it all very relaxing and easy to learn. The team I met (Jo Jo, Darwin & Kenneth) were all very nice and extremely helpful. If you’re planning on learning to Scuba Dive in Cebu I highly recommend Dive Funatics.

If you’re reading this because you’re trying to decide whether to book a PADI course with Dive Funatics, stop reading and go book it right now.

I booked the Open Water Gold package, which included a complimentary Advanced Open Water course. While they’re probably not the cheapest dive shop in Cebu, honestly price is my last consideration when deciding where to do something as potentially dangerous as diving. You want attentive, safety oriented instructors, and on that front Dive Funatics delivers in spades.

Even before I turned up, Darwin answered all my emails quickly and thoroughly at any time of day. When I had concerns that I wouldn’t be able to perform some of the practical skills required, he really put my mind at ease.

As well as Darwin, I was lucky enough to be taught by two other instructors during my time there – JoJo and Earl. All three have a fun and friendly attitude that belies their razor-sharp attention to detail. Despite my nerves, I always felt very safe. When I saw other students struggling with some of the tasks, they assigned additional instructors to help, even if it was three instructors to one student – rather than some dive shops who just take your money, at Dive Funatics they really want you to succeed.

I won’t go into all of the highlights – there are so many – but the most memorable time was the Night Dive portion of the Advanced course. Earl pointed out beautiful bioluminescent jellyfish, squid and shrimp that I otherwise would have missed. I will always remember it.

In summary: I am so glad that I chose to learn with Dive Funatics. I miss them already, and I am counting the days till my return.

My friends and I had a great experience with Dive Funatics for our Open Water Diver Certification course! The course was two days long, with online self-study required before arriving. Earl and JoJo were our instructors for a group of 4 and they were fabulous! Experienced and patient instructors, they helped even the most nervous of us feel at ease and competent under water. Dive Funatics includes all course materials in the cost – all we had to do was show up with our swim suits and a change of clothes. Darwin, who manages the administrative tasks was extremely responsive to our inquiries and pro-active in making sure we had everything we needed before we arrived.All in all, it was fabulous value, great instructor:student ratio with experienced instructors, and opened up a whole new world for us! I had a wonderful experience in Dive Funatics! I took the Open Water Course with my group of 4 friends. We are assigned two instructors for two people. We could get a systemic well scheduled lessons from very experienced instructors. I am South Korean and lives in Mactan Island. I’ve been looking for a small but professional local dive shop in Mactan Island, and found Dive Funatics. I visited to talk to one the their instructos about my plan to get advanced open water and recue diver license. He sounded professional, so I tried one day fun dives with this team. Divefunatics is my first love. They have shaped me into the diver that I am now. No matter who or what center I dive with, #divefunatics is always on top of my credits. It’s just natural to never forget what your first dive was like and the people who made it sure you had the best first dive ever. Having taken both OW and Advanced OW courses with them has not taken away that feeling. Every dive is still like the first, the only difference is the confidence they have built in me. Every dive is still like the first–euphoric, refreshing, invigorating… the moment I break the surface, it feels like being born again. Only Divefunatics could have hardwired that into me. The best training provider in Cebu so far when it comes to specialty dive courses. Shout out to Mr. Darwin Bawasanta, our head facilitator, for being so patient to all our demands and for being very understanding all throughout the process and who gave all his effort for the training to materialize. Mind you, it is not easy to find a facilitator who can give in to all demands and who will help you from the start (proposal) up to the very last day that the training has been successfully done. Definitely, we are Dive Funatics Fanatics!!! =)

We got our open water cert through these guys and they were phenomenal! Everyone we talked to was very knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. Arthur our instructor inspired confidence, and made every lesson super fun, and was very thorough. Both of the instructors had wonderful senses of humor and had us laughing throughout each day.

My boy took the Open Water lesson here just a few days ago. Instructor, Hans, was very patient. It is reassuring when Hans explained to the both of us what they will be doing, how many dives, how deep they would go on different lessons, took a lot of time to explain why it is important for each drill made me very comfortable. I would absolutely recommend this dive center for anyone who is seeking to get their dive license.All the staffs there were very nice and I watched them talking to other students and customers. (Darwin/Rikka were very fast to respond on any questions over the e-mail). Instructions were all very simple to understand and were very willing to repeat if you didn’t understand them. All of them came out of the water with a big smile on their faces.Again, great place and keep up the good work!

Amazing experiences with this diving center… we have done the open water course with them… all the people are so competent and in just 2 days you can get your certification… the barrier reef is in the place, let’s say 5 minutes swim… I really raccomand this centre… Darwin, Jojo and rikka will make this course an amazing part of your trip… thanks guys, we will never forget you… hope to come back as a dive master hehehehe

GREAT place to do your PADI certification. Jojo my instructor was patient and even saved me a little.. and Rikka has been very hospitable and accommodating, even going so far as to give me motion sickness pills! Their shop which is located nearest to the dive site. This means you don’t have to carry your gears very far! Darwin also helped my family arrange contacts for island hopping as we wanted a more private experience and it went very smoothly. I’ll be back to dive here for sure!

I completed my Open Water Diver Training with Dive Funatics.When getting in touch with Dive Funatics by email, Darwin (the course director) responded quickly and professionally to all my inquiries.I also couldn’t have imagined a better dive instructor. He was very patient and effectively managed to open my eyes to the underwater world, to experience and enjoy its beauty.The whole team was super friendly and encouraging. On the days of my training, Dive Funatics was also training divers for the demanding test of PADI instructor. This created a supportive atmosphere inductive to mutual encouragement.I will definitely visit Dive Funatics again in the future for further training, as they inspired me to – as they call it- keep bubbling. I got my rescue diving license here. They sent me all the review and initial test material online so I could complete all the theory before starting. This made the process very smooth. On site they were very professional yet easy going. Also there were a lot of “victims” I could practice on which was very practical and helpful as I could try on different sizes of people. Rikka and Jojo were my instructors for rescue and efr, and Darwin was on hand to help and answer any questions I had.Highly recommend them.

Did our Advanced Open Waters with Dive Funatics last October 2018. Learned a lot and had so much fun. I honestly can not recommend these guys enough. I did my dive master internship with them and had the best experience of my life. They make you feel part of the team and are friendliest group of people I’ve ever met. Perfect! I did my open water and advanced open water course with dive funatics. Since the theoretical part is online, I could finish it before I got there and it only took me 4 more days to get my licences (usually it would be 5-6). I have done some fin dives with different schools now which only strenghtens my opinion about Dive funatics. They let me dive with a computer without making a big thing about it whereas in other schools you have to rent it. Additionally you dont start in a boring pool. On my first ever dive we went in from the shore which offers a way more realistic view but still has a pool-like feel, so no current or anything.Last but not least I must say that I not only got my licence but felt like part of the team as well. Jojo is probably the funniest and most passionate dive instructor or master I had so far. Darwin also is very patient and makes sure you understand every part of diving.I will definitely come back and I have been recommending this dive shop to everyone I met.

A great bunch of instructors who tirelessly taught us the basics of rescue. When we had difficulties with our slightly unique BCD, everyone gave ideas enthusiastically and we had a fruitful session in the end. Now we are rescue and a bit more because we know how to deal with jacket BCDs (chicken feet) and the non-conventional type that has harness. Thank you Darwin, Rikka, Jojo, Christina!

I did my PADI Open Water and then the Advanced Open Water combined and Dive Funatics were simply amazing! I did the theory part of the course online before I got there which in hindsight is a great idea as scuba diving really takes it out of you when you’re learning so not having to study after your lessons is great, you just get to relax. The dive area is right by when you set up (like 5 steps into to the water) so there’s no long walk with all your gear before you get into the water. I had Jo Jo as my instructor and he was great, extremely experienced (found out he’d be diving longer than I’ve been on this earth!) and has been all over the world. He made the classes fun with his humour and made it all very relaxing and easy to learn. The team I met (Jo Jo, Darwin & Kenneth) were all very nice and extremely helpful. If you’re planning on learning to Scuba Dive in Cebu I highly recommend Dive Funatics.

My friends and I had a great experience with Dive Funatics for our Open Water Diver Certification course! The course was two days long, with online self-study required before arriving. Earl and JoJo were our instructors for a group of 4 and they were fabulous! Experienced and patient instructors, they helped even the most nervous of us feel at ease and competent under water. Dive Funatics includes all course materials in the cost – all we had to do was show up with our swim suits and a change of clothes. Darwin, who manages the administrative tasks was extremely responsive to our inquiries and pro-active in making sure we had everything we needed before we arrived.All in all, it was fabulous value, great instructor:student ratio with experienced instructors, and opened up a whole new world for us! We had a seamless experience and unanimously agree that we’d all be happy to come back again! Thanks Dive Funatics team for a great time!

I am South Korean and lives in Mactan Island. I’ve been looking for a small but professional local dive shop in Mactan Island, and found Dive Funatics. There’s a good reason why they are rated a 5 Star Dive Resort by PADI. Our 2 day Open Water Diver Training was one of the best learning experience that I had in a skill training program.
How they encouraged learners to take different options to learn the theory is a big check (I learn better when reading so the e-learning was the best option).
Our instructors Kae and Arthur were totally in sync and have not wasted every opportunity for us to apply what we’ve learned in the books and put them into practice. I’m someone who have short attention span but they’ve kept me real busy that I totally enjoyed every moment of it.
They were able to quickly adjust all the basic skill demo and evaluation based on our needs, that’s how much attention they put into every learner.
Equalization was a bit of a challenge for me but they’ve been wonderful and patient that I was able to get the hang of it on Day 2.
With their help I am now more confident that I can explore and appreciate the beauty of what’s under the sea. Can’t wait to gain more experience in applying what I’ve learned and enroll in other learning courses in the future.
Thank you Dive Funatics for helping me tick off an item in my bucket list.

Me and my girlfriend, Ceci, did our Open Water certification with DiveFunatics and the choice couldn’t be better. The DM Jojo was very good, patient and always happy and smiling. This helped us to feel very comfortable. Thanks also to Kae that joined us for the last dive to shoot pictures and video, nice and fun. The organization was perfect and the management very helpful providing all the info we needed by mail before join the course. Moreover, they provide very good price rates for the content of the courses. I would surely recommend to whoever wants to approach scuba diving and enjoy the incredible experience of the big blue.

Finally deciding to go for a diving course, my best friend saw this company online and found great packages for the open water and advanced open water courses. Being skeptical people, we asked numerous questions before booking and Darwin was very accommodating and answered all questions. Also assured us of our safety and that we would enjoy the course. Location seems lacking above water but below there is flourishing marine life and good terrain for training. Without knowing my friend, Rikka, is directly associated with this center, I went there with my best friend to join her for a fun dive. The location is easy to find, the person who welcomed us (Jojo) was very jolly and the DMs who dived with us (Kenneth & Jeremy) were very accommodating. My first dive was very pressuring (but still fun) but my 2 dives with these guys were just equally exhilarating and amazing! If you’re reading this because you’re trying to decide whether to book a PADI course with Dive Funatics, stop reading and go book it right now.

I booked the Open Water Gold package, which included a complimentary Advanced Open Water course. While they’re probably not the cheapest dive shop in Cebu, honestly price is my last consideration when deciding where to do something as potentially dangerous as diving. You want attentive, safety oriented instructors, and on that front Dive Funatics delivers in spades.

Even before I turned up, Darwin answered all my emails quickly and thoroughly at any time of day. When I had concerns that I wouldn’t be able to perform some of the practical skills required, he really put my mind at ease.

As well as Darwin, I was lucky enough to be taught by two other instructors during my time there – JoJo and Earl. All three have a fun and friendly attitude that belies their razor-sharp attention to detail. Despite my nerves, I always felt very safe. When I saw other students struggling with some of the tasks, they assigned additional instructors to help, even if it was three instructors to one student – rather than some dive shops who just take your money, at Dive Funatics they really want you to succeed.

I won’t go into all of the highlights – there are so many – but the most memorable time was the Night Dive portion of the Advanced course. Earl pointed out beautiful bioluminescent jellyfish, squid and shrimp that I otherwise would have missed. I will always remember it.

In summary: I am so glad that I chose to learn with Dive Funatics. I miss them already, and I am counting the days till my return.

I’m really happy to have chosen this Dive school to prepare my IE. Darwin is a very professional and experienced instructor that give you all the information needed both for the theory that for the skills. Key is an amazing and very dedicated staff instructor. The whole journey of me taking the IDC in Divefunatics was remarkable and intensive at the same time. Intensive in a sense that they will really mold and encourage you to master every skill and the dive theories. Expect all of the following (and more) when taking an IDC with Dive Funatics:
– Very thorough theory preparation.
– Underwater skill preparation that commits performing skills to muscle memory.
– Instructor training so extensive and realistic that you will not only be able to just detect, but also anticipate any student problems.
– Group learning with individual guidance.
– Dedication of a team of people who’s passion for diving and teaching makes them go well beyond the normal teaching standards.
– All this whilst often laughing to the point of tears. 🤣

The IDC with Dive Funatics was pure awesomeness! They prepared us so thoroughly, from the Assistant Instructor Course up to the main IDC. I loved how the training was structured with the right mix of in-water workshops, mock exams, and classroom presentations that at the end of the 10th day of the IDC, our confidence and preparedness has been completely transformed. I also would like to note the delicious food that we had all through out the entire experience, they were very considerate in accommodating my vegetarian diet, we were never hungry 😉 and on top of that, our Course Director – Christophe Pace and all the staff instructors – Darwin, Kae and Phil were great mentors, always ready to answer questions, impart knowledge, wisdom and their experiences. The atmosphere was really amazing, more than being developed as an instructor, we also gained a family and a community with lots of laughter and fun. I highly recommend doing your IDC with Dive Funatics and see yourself transformed and your life changed for the better and forever!😉

We spend most of our time running courses. We teach a broad spectrum of PADI courses from entry certification to instructor level, including a lot of specialty courses to choose from.
